Job Description
Job Summary
To ensure legal compliance with all relevant statutory requirements and maintain continuous improvements to the Environmental Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. The role involves developing partnerships with business leaders and actively promoting health and safety culture.
Responsibilities
EHSMS Management & Compliance
- Manage the EHSMS, including reviewing, updating, and implementing health and safety documentation to improve compliance scores.
- Assist in shaping and delivering the EHS strategy for the EMEA region.
- Collaborate with business leaders to drive EHS improvements aligned with objectives.

Incident & Emergency Response
- Conduct or participate in emergency evacuation drills, updating emergency signage and information.
- Pre-qualify and approve contractors, reviewing risk assessments and method statements for vendors/third-party contractors.
- Log major incidents, determine root causes, and lead accident investigations (corrective actions required).
- Report incidents immediately to Corporate EHS and relevant external agencies.
Training & Administration
- Maintain the site training matrix, arranging first aid, fire warden, and new-starter inductions.
- Host safety meetings (fire wardens, first aiders, EHS Committee, etc.).
Regulatory & Audit Support
- Liaise with external regulators and Government agencies (e.g., police) on safety/criminal investigations.
- Prepare a weekly EHS summary report for the International EHS Director.
- Audit compliance against NBCUniversal standards and local legal requirements.
Technical & System Maintenance
- Perform regular Gensuite maintenance, verifying metrics (injury rates, action closure rates).
- Adjust I&I rate calculations based on employee labour hours.
- Monitor long-term trends in safety data to identify improvement plans.

Events & Special Projects
- Oversee health and safety requirements for special events (e.g., Cares Day), including site visits and risk assessments.
- Provide safety briefings as needed.
Security & Crisis Management
- Support Security, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity programs.
- Liaise with external/local agencies (e.g., police) as directed by management.
Miscellaneous
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the International EHS Director.
Requirements
Professional Qualifications
- NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
Professional Membership
- Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) (or pursuing qualification).
