Manager - Environmental Legislation and Certification

Every Aston Martin begins with a vision for the future.

But turning that vision into a reality requires more than world-class design and engineering. It requires navigating an increasingly complex global landscape of environmental legislation, emissions requirements and certification standards that shape what is possible, where vehicles can be sold and how future programmes are delivered.

This is where you come in.

As a Manager- Environmental Legislation and Certification, you'll lead Aston Martin's Environmental Certification team, ensuring our vehicles meet the regulatory and certification requirements needed to bring some of the world's most desirable vehicles to customers across the globe.

This isn't a role focused solely on compliance, it's an opportunity to influence product strategy, guide critical engineering decisions and help shape the future direction of Aston Martin's vehicle portfolio as the automotive industry continues to evolve.

Working closely with Engineering, Programme Teams, Calibration, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales and Marketing, you'll be at the centre of key business decisions, ensuring certification activities remain aligned with programme timing, customer expectations and commercial objectives.

You'll lead a team of engineers, technicians and analysts while collaborating with certification authorities, regulatory bodies, suppliers and global industry partners. From emissions legislation and fuel economy requirements to EV range certification and future compliance strategies, your expertise will help ensure Aston Martin remains ready for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What makes this role particularly exciting is the level of influence it offers.

You'll have the opportunity to shape certification strategies for future programmes, guide complex technical discussions, manage critical testing and certification activities and provide leadership across one of the most important areas of the business. Your work won't just support vehicle delivery; it will help define how Aston Martin responds to a rapidly changing regulatory landscape.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring proven experience in powertrain certification, testing and engineering, alongside a strong understanding of the regulations and compliance requirements that govern modern vehicle development. You'll be comfortable leading teams, managing competing priorities and building strong relationships across a wide range of technical and commercial stakeholders.

We're looking for someone who can combine technical expertise with strategic thinking. Someone who is just as confident discussing certification requirements with engineers and regulators as they are presenting plans, risks and recommendations to senior leadership.

Strong programme management skills, commercial awareness and the ability to simplify complex technical challenges will be key.
