Role Title: Manager, Financial Markets & Treasury Operations Settlements

Our London office is a key international hub, working closely with colleagues across Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas. As our Financial Markets and Treasury business continues to evolve, we are investing in our operational capability to support business growth, product expansion and enhanced client service.

How will I help

This is a senior role within Financial Markets & Treasury Operations, responsible for overseeing settlements activity across a broad range of products including commodities, FX, derivatives and securities.

Acting as a key London-based point of coordination and expertise, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of settlements, maintaining a strong control environment, resolving complex operational issues and supporting the continued evolution of our global operating model.

Working closely with stakeholders across Front Office, Relationship Management, Treasury, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology and Operations teams in London, and Sydney, you will help drive operational excellence while supporting business growth and change initiatives across the region.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee settlements activity across commodities, FX, derivatives and securities products, ensuring timely and accurate
  • Manage operational risk, exceptions, settlement breaks and escalations, driving issues through to resolution.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for complex settlements matters and operational queries.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to support new products, client activity and business initiatives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Financial Markets and Treasury operating model, supporting process improvement, scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong control environment through effective governance, escalation and adherence to operational procedures.
  • Work closely with global colleagues to ensure a seamless service model across regions and time zones.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve controls and enhance client and stakeholder outcomes.

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience within Financial Markets, Treasury or Capital Markets Operations.
  • Strong settlements expertise across one or more asset classes including FX, derivatives, securities or commodities.
  • Deep understanding of trade lifecycle events, payment flows, settlement instructions, confirmations and exception management.
  • Experience operating within a controlled and regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong operational risk awareness and a proven track record of managing issues, incidents and control improvements.
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and build credibility with business, operational and control functions.
  • Experience working across global operating models and collaborating with international teams.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to support business growth while maintaining operational discipline.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with sound judgement and strong attention to detail
