Bedford Borough is delivering an ambitious programme of SEND transformation, bringing together education, health and care partners to improve outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring Manager for SEND Programme to lead this work. This is an exciting opportunity to shape strategic change across the local area, working jointly with Bedford Borough Council and the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board (ICB) to deliver our Local SEND Reform Plan, Joint SEND Strategy and wider improvement programme.

This is a varied leadership role, combining strategic programme management with operational oversight. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee the Local Offer and SENDIASS, champion co-production with children, young people and families, and work closely with senior leaders across education, health, social care and the voluntary sector to deliver meaningful and lasting improvements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
