The Opportunity
EY is scaling its Digital Engineering capabilities in Belfast and is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who thrives as both a hands-on developer and a technical leader. This role demands an individual who:

Primary Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deliver full-stack products across frontend (UI/UX) to backend infrastructure.

Build responsive, high-quality interfaces using modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.

Develop secure, scalable APIs and services with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and performance.

Collaborate closely with product teams to bridge business requirements and technical execution.

Present technical solutions and features effectively to stakeholders and clients.

Initiate code reviews, enforce best practices, and uphold engineering standards.

Lead and support technical improvements, including debt reduction, performance optimisation, and documentation.

Shape the engineering strategy for Digital Engineering, advocating for consistent practices and standards across teams.

Mentor junior developers, fostering continuous growth and engineering culture.
Requirements & Skills for Success
Core Technical Proficiencies:
- Proven full-stack development experience with increasing leadership responsibility:
- Strong expertise in backend development, including Node.js, Java, Python, or .NET.
- Proven ability to design sc medium/large-scale market solutions, APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
- Relational database management: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Testing and quality assurance: Proficiency in testing frameworks, automated testing (unit, integration), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Cloud and DevOps familiarity: Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP is advantageous; DevOps/automation experience is a plus.
Leadership & Culture:
- Strong technical vision with decisive problem-solving skills.
- Robust communication: Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor mindset: Commitment to coaching, team growth, and elevating engineering standards.
