The Role:

The role will be responsible for International Sourcing leadership for a number of key spend categories across Marketing & Sales and General Administration.

The Role requires working closely with internal Lilly stakeholders across the world and external organizations to evaluate opportunities, create category strategies and implement innovative solutions for the selection of suppliers. The role also entails leading existing supply relationships to ensure Lilly maximizes the full value from our spend. The successful candidate will be a member of the Strategic Sourcing procurement team based in Cork GBS. The candidate will have proven experience in indirect Procurement leadership / Category Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, create & execute International Category strategies for assigned areas of spend
  • Develop and share category expertise with other team members in the Strategic sourcing team
  • Be the International Business Unit sourcing owner for assigned categories within the IBU Procurement organization.
  • Apply strategic sourcing processes, utilizing project management skills and techniques to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Lead supplier relationships in conjunction with business areas.
  • Act as an escalation point for contractual and performance issues.
  • Lead Negotiations and develop contracts within area of responsibility.
  • Manage sourcing/tendering process, utilizing Ariba tools.
  • Provide commercial advice to business areas as required.
  • Partner with colleagues in global procurement
  • Work with internal business partners to develop approved supplier strategies and listings in key areas of responsibility
  • Promote and ensure compliance with procurement processes and Financial Responsibility Authorizations Policy

Essential Skills:

  • Proven track record in Procurement.
  • Procurement / Category management experience.
  • International Procurement Experience preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate multiple source information and make recommendations.
  • Able to communicate effectively, develop strong relationships and lead at all levels cross-functionally, both internally and externally
  • Commercially aware with a proactive, energetic, can-do attitude
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and internal customer groups.
  • Accomplished in external interactions and negotiations.
  • Self-motivated, able to proactively seek and prioritize opportunities
  • Skilled at working with minimal close guidance

Education Requirements:

  • Degree-level education in Procurement, Business Administration, or Finance or degree-level education in any discipline with relevant experience
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. Additional language capability would be advantageous
  • CIPS / IIPMM / ISM qualification and/or relevant Procurement experience
  • Good IT literacy with the Microsoft Office suite & SAP/Ariba

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is €32,250 - €82,610

Full-time equivalent employees may also be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
