As investment in AI continues to accelerate, the Insurance sector is undergoing significant transformation, creating new opportunities to modernise operations, improve customer experiences and unlock business value through data-driven decision making.
Our Insurance Data & AI team works with leading insurers across the market to design and implement innovative AI solutions, helping clients navigate complex regulatory environments while accelerating digital transformation. We combine deep insurance industry knowledge with world-class technical expertise to solve some of the most challenging problems facing the sector today.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Manager - Insurance & Asset Wealth Management (I&AWM) Data Architect to help shape and deliver AI-enabled transformation programmes across the Insurance industry.
In this role, you will work with insurers to design scalable, secure and responsible AI architectures, advise clients on AI adoption strategies and lead the development of innovative AI solutions that address complex business challenges. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical delivery, helping clients transform how they operate through AI, data and modern technology platforms.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong blend of AI architecture expertise, consulting experience and insurance sector knowledge who wants to work on market-leading programmes and influence the future of AI within the insurance industry.

What your days will look like:
- Design scalable, secure and reusable AI architectures across data, AI and cloud environments, tailored to complex insurance business and technology landscapes.
- Lead architecture discovery, technical scoping and solution design activities for AI transformation programmes across underwriting, claims, pricing, customer, finance and risk functions.
- Design and implement Agentic AI, LLM and RAG-based solutions, including orchestration, knowledge grounding, governance and monitoring capabilities.
- Lead cross-functional teams of AI Engineers, Data Scientists and Product Specialists to deliver innovative AI solutions from concept through deployment.
- Embed responsible AI, security, data governance and regulatory considerations into solution design within highly regulated insurance environments.
- Advise clients on AI adoption strategies, value realisation opportunities and target-state AI platform architectures that support long-term business objectives.
- Engage with senior client stakeholders to translate business challenges into practical AI solutions and support wider Insurance sector growth and go-to-market initiatives.

- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise AI solutions within consulting or client-facing environments.
- Strong understanding of the insurance sector, including areas such as underwriting, claims, pricing, distribution, customer operations, finance or risk.
- Hands-on experience with Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and enterprise AI architecture.
- Experience designing solutions across Azure, AWS or GCP environments with knowledge of APIs, integration patterns and modern engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI, security, governance, risk management and regulatory requirements within complex organisations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience leading technical teams, workstreams or transformation programmes and translating business challenges into scalable AI solutions.
