Manager, Market Intelligence
The Manager, Market Intelligence leads the development of market and competitive insights that inform Sales strategy, business decisions, growth opportunities, and competitive positioning.
Reporting to the Director, Sales Strategy & Analytics
This role oversees competitor and market research, translates findings into actionable recommendations, and partners with Sales Leadership, Product, Marketing, Analytics, and other stakeholders to strengthen the organization’s understanding of the competitive landscape.
Outcomes and Activities:
- Work Location: This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to our Southfield, Michigan office may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at our Southfield, Michigan office if requested by the team member.
Competitive and Market Intelligence
- Lead research and analysis of competitors, dealer programs, pricing, products, technology, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging competitive risks and opportunities.
- Evaluate competitor strengths, weaknesses, and potential business implications.
- Translate complex research into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
Strategic Decision Support
- Serve as a subject matter expert on competitive and market intelligence.
- Provide insights that support Sales strategy, strategic planning, growth initiatives, and leadership decision making.
- Support market assessments, business reviews, strategic planning, and ad hoc business priorities.
- Develop and deliver executive-level briefings, presentations, and recommendations.

Competitive Positioning and Enablement
- Oversee development of competitor profiles, battlecards, competitive assessments, differentiation frameworks, and related resources.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Sales Enablement to support positioning and competitive response strategies.
- Ensure competitive intelligence resources remain current, accurate, and actionable.
Intelligence Operations and Governance
- Establish consistent processes for gathering, validating, organizing, and sharing competitive intelligence.
- Maintain competitor databases, research repositories, dashboards, and recurring intelligence reporting.
- Improve accessibility, quality, and utilization of competitive intelligence across the organization.
- Measure the effectiveness and business value of intelligence outputs.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop Competitive Intelligence team members.
- Set priorities, performance expectations, and quality standards.
- Foster analytical rigor, curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least five years of experience in Competitive Intelligence, Market Research, Business Strategy, Product Marketing, Business Analytics, Sales Strategy, or a related field.
- Experience leading team members, programs, or complex analytical initiatives.
- Strong research, analytical, critical-thinking, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex information into actionable business recommendations and influence stakeholders across functions.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting Sales or go-to-market organizations.
- Experience with competitive intelligence, market research, or analytics platforms and tools.
- Experience supporting strategic planning and executive decision-making.
- Automotive finance, financial services, fintech, or related industry experience.
Targeted Compensation:
- $128,500 - $150,000 base salary + annual bonus plan
Visa Sponsorship:
- This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b / H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
