Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM)
Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) creates marketplace demand and drives brand consideration for American Express products and services amongst premium customers and Small Business Owners through differentiated and innovative insights, marketing, and experiences.
The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express products and services through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. We have an ambitious goal: to be the most admired brand in the Fortune 500 and we aim to deliver on that by doing work that is both creative and effective. The Global Brand Sponsorships and Experiential Marketing team sits within GABM and leads 40+ partnerships globally, delivering best-in-class ticket access, live event and digital engagement platforms across Card Member and Prospect passion points of sports, music, theater and various other cultural interests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support spearheading the strategy, creative development and execution of sports activations, with a focus on our Wimbledon partnership, including but not limited to, access and benefits for Card Members, prospect engagement programs, live activation plans, offsite/digital extensions, branding, utilization of contractual media and sponsorship assets and B2B hospitality program
- Collaborate and lead robust set of internal and partners to deliver best-in-class plan, from briefing through execution and measurement
- Maintain large scale budgets in partnership with Finance team and other stakeholders, ensuring close understanding of internal processes and ensuring project comes in at or under budget
- Develop relationships across American Express enterprise to develop strategic sponsorship programs in support of business priorities relating to both B2B and B2C customers
- Communicate regular updates and full activation plans in strategic, clear manner to team leadership
- Support the delivery of ad-hoc strategic sponsorship projects that may arise from time to time.
- Represent American Express within the sports industry to deepen relationships, knowledge, and development to continue to be on cutting edge of customer experience
- Travel required to execute onsite programs

QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years' work experience with focus area in sponsorship, large-scale events, and experiential marketing/partnerships.
- Proven track record in managing external partners, large-scale cross-functional teams and agency partners across experiential, media, content and PR
- Experience in people leadership including engagement in individual development plans
- Expert in navigating grey space and building a strategy from the ground up that delivers on team objectives
- Ability to work under pressure with compressed timelines
- Maintain balance while managing various work streams while demonstrating strong leadership and composure
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), as well as executive presence
- Focus on innovation and constant appetite to know and learn more about the industry – including experiential marketing, technology, payment innovations and competitive landscape
- Strong measurement and analytical skills
- Work location requirements: London (hybrid)
