About the Opportunity
The Manager Master Planning & Network Capacity (Maternity Cover) is responsible for leading the Master Planning function, while retaining functional accountability for Network Capacity & Scenario Planning. This role oversees and optimizes 0–52-week master planning activities, develops effective strategies for resource allocation, production scheduling and supply chain optimization, and ensures that business objectives related to inventory, capacity and On Time, in Full (OTIF) delivery performance are met. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional management, including Demand Planning, Supply Forecast, PBM, Operations, Production, Logistics and Sales, to ensure alignment of planning management with overall company goals. Furthermore, the role provides Master Planning leadership and Network Capacity governance by managing and supporting the Network Capacity & Master Planner responsible for day-to-day Network Capacity & Scenario Planning activities, ensuring capacity assumptions, risks and opportunities are visible, aligned through the Operating Model process and managed proactively.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the Network Capacity & Scenario Planning function to ensure realistic short-, mid- and long-term capacity plans are developed, maintained and aligned with the Operating Model process and business priorities.
- Manage the Network Capacity & Master Planner responsible for day-to-day Network Capacity & Scenario Planning activities, providing direction, coaching and escalation support while ensuring capacity risks, assumptions and opportunities are visible and managed proactively.
- Lead the consensus process with operational teams managing critical capacities, challenging, resolving and escalating business risks through the Operating Model process when required.
- Accountable for all 0–52-week Master Planning activities within the UK.
- Manage, mentor and develop the Master Planning team to ensure high performance, clear priorities and professional growth.
- Closely collaborate with cross-regional Master Planning counterparts to strengthen team cooperation among team members and stakeholders.
- Design, implement and manage integrated planning processes to align production, inventory and supply chain operations.
- Support the Project Aurora (SME) team when required to ensure the seamless integration of new systems, tools and globally designed processes into existing planning workflows.
- Delegate tasks and ensure the team meets key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Lead the Master Planning track within the strategic initiative "Operating Model," guiding a team of SMEs through organizational changes and ensuring alignment with global standardization and simplification goals for roles, responsibilities and processes.
- Build a high-performing team that embraces collaboration and innovation and ensure accountability within the Operating Model scope.
- Lead the deployment, adoption and continuous improvement of PEAK AI within Supply Chain Planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives, stakeholder requirements and planning processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize and implement PEAK AI opportunities that improve planning effectiveness, decision making and operational performance.
- Develop the Master Planning team’s knowledge of customer strategies to enable effective prioritization of sales channels.
- Develop and execute change management strategies, including training programs, stakeholder engagement and adoption plans.
- Identify and address resistance to change, fostering a positive and adaptable team culture.
- Develop and implement long-term and short-term Master Planning strategies to meet production, inventory and customer demand objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of master plans with business objectives.
- Oversee the creation, monitoring and adjustment of master plans, ensuring assumptions, risks and opportunities are visible and managed proactively.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including labor, equipment and materials.
- Lead and facilitate daily Supply and Operations Planning (S&OP) calls to align supply, demand and production priorities, coordinating cross-functional discussions and ensuring clear communication of outcomes, decisions and next steps.
- Address and resolve supply chain planning disruptions.
- Analyze supply chain metrics and provide structural reports on planning performance, order fulfillment and inventory health.
