Manager, Media Product Owner

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join Liverpool FC's Product team as Manager, Media Product Owner.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Digital Product Management, this role provides hands-on support across Liverpool FC’s digital and media products, including the Official LFC App and Liverpoolfc.com. Working closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams, you will help deliver new features, content experiences and fan-focused improvements, with a particular emphasis on video products such as All Red Video, YouTube Memberships, podcasts and connected TV platforms. You will collaborate with stakeholders across Media, Marketing, Membership, Payments, SSO, Supporter Services and external suppliers to ensure digital products continue to drive both business objectives and exceptional supporter experiences.

Product Delivery & Enablement

  • Support the delivery of roadmap priorities across media products, the Official LFC App and Liverpoolfc.com.
  • Manage and maintain product backlogs, requirements, user stories and feature delivery within an Agile environment.
  • Coordinate delivery with internal teams, suppliers and partners, ensuring dependencies, testing and issue resolution are effectively managed.
  • Support business case development, backlog prioritisation and delivery planning to maximise commercial and fan value.
  • Monitor feature performance post-launch and use insights to inform future enhancements.

Media Content & Audience Products

  • Support the growth and development of All Red Video, YouTube Memberships and LFC Podcasts across LFC's digital channels.
  • Assist with revenue, budget and entitlement strategy management across free, freemium and subscription products.
  • Support product planning around key football and commercial moments throughout the season.
  • Collaborate with Media, Marketing and content teams to deliver engaging fan experiences.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Official App, Web & Video Experience

  • Support the ongoing development of the Official LFC App, including video-first and mobile-first experiences.
  • Enhance how video content is presented and discovered across Liverpoolfc.com and connected platforms.
  • Help deliver seamless experiences across web, app, connected TV and subscription products.
  • Support content entitlement, access management and data protection processes.
  • Coordinate testing, localisation and continuous improvement initiatives across digital products.

Reporting, Analytics & Commercial Performance

  • Use analytics and reporting tools to measure product performance, audience engagement and quality of experience.
  • Produce regular performance reports and insights to support product decisions.
  • Monitor commercial metrics including engagement, conversion, retention and revenue.
  • Support financial, legal, accessibility and data protection compliance requirements.

General Responsibilities

  • Support supplier management, contract renewals and service continuity planning.
  • Assist with platform, app and customer support investigations.
  • Coordinate the resolution of technical issues with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Maintain test accounts and product access records.
  • Work closely with the wider Digital Product team to share knowledge, improve processes and support successful product delivery.

Requirements

Essential Knowledge

  • Experience in Product Ownership or Product Management within consumer-facing digital products, supporting app, web or media platforms.
  • Understanding of digital media, OTT platforms, subscription models, video streaming, content entitlement and user journeys.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, including backlog management, sprint planning and delivery coordination.
  • Analytical and commercially minded, with experience using data, reporting and KPIs to inform decisions.
  • Understanding of platform integrations, data privacy, GDPR and digital compliance requirements.

Essential Technical Skills

  • Product and project management experience using tools such as Jira and other Agile platforms.
  • Strong reporting and analytics capabilities, including Power BI or similar BI tools.
  • Experience managing budgets, supplier relationships, contracts and operational governance.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on consumer apps, digital products or platforms focused on engagement, conversion, retention and revenue growth.
  • Knowledge of video products, streaming services, OTT platforms and mobile-first content experiences, including short-form and vertical video.
  • Experience within sports, media, broadcast or entertainment environments.
  • Understanding of connected TV platforms, video infrastructure, localisation and content personalisation technologies.
  • Business analysis experience and strong requirements-gathering capabilities.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven recommendations, translation and subtitling tools for digital content experiences.
