What’s the role?

The Luxembourg onboarding team manager is responsible for delivering a superior client experience for Gen II by managing multi-jurisdictional onboarding services for the institutional business. This role ensures full compliance with Luxembourg-specific regulatory obligations while taking a pragmatic, commercial approach to risk-based challenges. The lead also ensures that all client and investor static data is accurately captured, recorded, and maintained across core business platforms, supporting ongoing data management throughout the client and investor lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing

Your role may include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks which we call ‘Defined Business Activities’. The list of defined business activities is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time:

Operational

  • Responsible for the Luxembourg Investor Onboarding Team in Southampton for Gen II’s institutional business, ensuring oversight and visibility across multiple jurisdiction
  • Acting in a collaborative manner, supporting our clients, relationship managers and their teams from an Onboarding and Data Management perspective
  • Continuously assess processes and identify areas of weakness and work with the Client Delivery Management team to implement improvements.
  • Client focused with an ability to work in a fast paced, high pressured work environment.
  • Work closely with the clients and their advisors to understand complex structures and deliver commercial and pragmatic solutions to meet client and business needs.
  • Act as a workstream lead to support delivery of a variety of new client transition initiatives and co-ordinate with the team members ensuring delivery of a superior client experience.
  • Act as a point of escalation and resolve complex issues related to the onboarding process.
  • Work closely with Gen II Compliance and the Luxembourg Compliance Officer, ensuring appropriate levels of approvals are obtained for high risk & PEP’s
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and industry standards in all areas that affect the operations functions to ensure that standards and procedures are complied with at all times.
  • Responsible for the approval of appropriate workflows within core systems.
  • Provide input to internal reports as required, ensuring accuracy and relevance for Luxembourg onboarding operations.

Administration

  • Prioritising and organising day to day workloads.
  • Dealing with internal and external day to day queries in a timely manner.
  • Assist in appropriate projects and initiatives relating to operations teams.
  • Attend to regular team meetings and constructively contribute.
  • Understanding what is appropriate and acceptable in relation to AML/SOF/SOW/CDD and other compliance obligations, and escalating issues and risks accordingly.
  • Assist in providing MI to the business.
  • Assist in meeting team objectives and meet set internal and external SLA’s
  • Daily input of time on timesheet ensures that all CPD requirements are met year on year.

The ideal background for this role

Qualifications

  • Recognised relevant ICA, AML or equivalent Professional Qualification

Experience

  • 5-8 years’ relevant finance industry experience, with the legal, compliance or regulatory sector.
  • Experience PE/Real Estate fund structures.
  • Previous experience in a MLRO/MLCO Compliance or similar role.*

Knowledge

  • Comprehensive and detailed understanding and knowledge of current industry AML/CFT handbook legislation, regulation & operating working practices.
  • Good understanding of GDPR and risks associated with personal/sensitive data.
  • Solid understanding of source of wealth/source of funds requirements

Role Location/Hybrid Schedule

This role is based in our Southampton office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
