About the Role
Our Solutions & AI Lab practice seeks an experienced Platform Engineering Manager to lead our teams in delivering robust, scalable cloud platforms.
The Solutions & AI Labs (SAIL) practice helps clients:
- Control and leverage data.
- Transform it into actionable insights.
- Embed Machine Learning solutions into business processes.
Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Focus on hardening environments and ensuring policies are planned and enforced.
- Implement and advocate for security best practices across the development and deployment lifecycle.
Cloud & Architecture
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and manage cloud deployment risks.
- Prioritise modularity and the to retinised toolchain, supporting accelerators and automation.
- Design, architect, develop, deploy, and evolve CI/CD systems for:
- Cloud-based data analytics platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Modern architecture patterns (e.g., APIs, events).
Infrastructure & Automation
- Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Automate application deployment using standardized tools and services.
- Scale services and toolchains to support:
- Configuration improvements.
- Accelerator and automation workflows.

Security & Reliability
- Build reusable, extensible, secure artifacts and drive Cloud/DevOps best practices.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
- Define and implement monitoring best practices, including:
- Health check agents.
- Logging and alerting strategies.
Solution Architecture
- Translate business requirements (functional and non-functional) into compliant, scalable solutions.
- Deliver high-level designs and architectures aligned with strategic goals.
- Optimise financial operations and infrastructure costs.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in hands-on delivery of:
- DevOps, platform engineering.
- Solution design, cloud architecture development.
- Experience designing, architecting, and deploying CI/CD systems for:
- Modern data analytics platforms.
- Cloud-based web applications.
- Skills in:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Application automation (industry-standard tools/services).
- Hands-on experience in:
- Security, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring.
- Proficiency in at least one popular programming language (Python, JavaScript).
- Ability to:
- Architect modern, cloud-native solutions.
- Strive for simplicity and low maintenance.
- Drive internal platforms and design systems as development accelerators.
- Influence and justify best practices and standards in software development workflows.
- Build robust, modular CI/CD templates that support developer goals.
Desirable Certifications
Applicants should hold or pursue any of the following (minimum Associate level):
- AWS (Developer, Architect, SysOps).
- Azure (Developer, Administration).
- GCP (Cloud Engineer).
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
