The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Manager to join EY’s specialist Private Tax team in London. We’re seeking an individual with a strong technical foundation, proven relationship-building skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
Our Private Tax team works with a broad range of entrepreneurial, owner-managed, PE-backed, and AIM-listed businesses, as well as their shareholders, family offices, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, private equity clients, and professional partnerships.
We act as trusted advisers, delivering comprehensive tax advisory services that include:
- Tax-efficient value extraction and creation
- Reorganisations and transactions
- International tax advisory
- Ongoing maintenance of client tax structures
Our services span compliance, residence and domicile issues, wealth optimisation, and estate and succession planning. With a diverse UK and non-UK domiciled client base, we frequently provide cross-border tax support through EY’s international network.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Drive business development and identify new opportunities
- Manage the delivery of complex and demanding tax consulting projects
- Ensure technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach
- Supervise, coach, and mentor junior team members
- Contribute to team initiatives, including training, retention, and development
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Client-focused with strong strategic and commercial awareness
- Excellent tax technical expertise
- Proven relationship management and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Confident negotiator, able to articulate and defend opinions effectively
- Demonstrated business development experience
- Strong time management and ability to perform under pressure
- Project management skills with a focus on delivery and budget control
- Experience advising a range of clients (AIM-listed, PE-backed, family-owned, and OMBs)
- Creative and pragmatic problem-solver
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
- ACA / CTA / Tax Inspectors qualification (with full technical training), Law qualification, or equivalent tax specialist qualification
- Strong tax technical and business development skills
- Experience coaching and developing junior staff
