About the Role
The Communities and Engagement team manages a portfolio of researcher and author engagement channels, including online communities, blogs, seminars, and social media. The Manager, Researcher Engagement supports the delivery of Springer Nature’s researcher engagement strategy, with a particular focus on digital research seminars, virtual events, and connected engagement experiences across Research Communities and related platforms. The role is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and delivery of events, contributing to engaging, well-executed experiences that meet researcher and author needs, support wider engagement goals, and help build long-lasting relationships with academic audiences.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, platform teams, Community Managers, and external partners, this role helps implement best practice, repeatable processes, and scalable delivery models for digital events and engagement activity. The role supports teams across Springer Nature to deliver events effectively at scale, while providing selective hands-on support for priority or complex initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
