As an SAP Ariba Source to Pay Manager, your role will involve:

  • Leading pre-sales conversations with the clients and helping to shape a vision of their Procurement Transformation journey roadmap
  • Build client relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Delivery of SAP enabled transformation programmes - specialising in Ariba upstream or downstream Source to Pay processes across indirect and direct procurement but with an appreciation of the integration with the wider S/4 Finance and Supply Chain landscape
  • In-depth understanding and practical experience with the new Procurement Act 2023, including its implications for procurement processes, transparency requirements, supplier selection, and contract management. This includes knowledge of the transition period and how to prepare for its full implementation.
  • Detailed knowledge of how SAP Ariba can work with the following public sector procurement portals:
    • "Find a Tender" Service (FTS): Proven experience with the FTS for publishing notices (e.g., Prior Information Notices, Contract Notices, Contract Award Notices) and understanding how SAP Ariba's sourcing modules can integrate or align with FTS requirements for compliant publication.
    • G-Cloud Integration & Digital Marketplace: Specific knowledge of the G-Cloud framework and the wider Digital Marketplace. This includes understanding how to procure cloud services and digital outcomes compliantly through these channels and how SAP Ariba can support the management of contracts and suppliers sourced via G-Cloud.
    • Crown Digital Platform: Familiarity with the Crown Digital Platform and its role in central government digital services, data sharing, or procurement initiatives. Ability to understand how a local council might interact with or leverage this platform, and how SAP Ariba can complement or integrate with its functionalities for streamlined public sector operations.
  • Develop and manage implementation plans that maximise the potential of SAP technology whilst minimising implementation risk
  • Designing end-to-end solutions and ensuring deliverables are consistent with design principles, standards and methodologies
  • Lead client workshops covering a range of topics including; process design, industry best practices and bring SME knowledge in Source to Pay in the direct and indirect procurement environments.
  • Lead or participate in practice development activities which support sales activities and internal capability development
  • Facilitate high-level and detailed design workshops for your functional area; collecting business requirements and mapping out business processes

To be successful in this role you are required to demonstrate:

Essentials:

  • Excellent senior stakeholder management
  • Experience of delivering Ariba solutions as part of a transformation programme
  • Expertise in either / both of:
    • SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite including Sourcing, Contract Management, Supplier Lifecycle & Performance and Supplier Risk Management
    • Ariba Buying & Invoicing with strong knowledge of the SAP Business Network
  • Expertise implementing end-to-end SAP Ariba solutions into a public sector organisation that complies with Procurement Act 2023 (PA2023) including integration to the Central Digital Platform (CDP)
  • A clear understanding of Ariba integration with S/4 HANA and MDG solutions where relevant
  • An understanding of Supplier and Content enablement strategies and planning options
  • Ability to carry out buying channel mapping initiatives with the client and understanding of the benefits this brings
  • Aware of recent SAP Ariba innovations and roadmap
  • Able to provide SME input and best practice business process in Source to Pay
  • Able to manage communication with key stakeholders (clients, internal teams, vendors) throughout the SAP implementation and ongoing support, ensuring alignment on project goals and timelines

Desirables:

  • An understanding of other associated solutions such as best of breed procurement tools
  • Knowledge of strategic procurement process
  • Experience of Agile working practices on SAP implementation, along with planning of activities during the project
