G3

G3 is a market-leading intelligence and investigations firm headquartered in the UK. We are one of the world’s largest human source-driven intelligence companies, operating across major global financial and legal hubs.

We have operated for over two decades, with diverse and talented commercial and operational teams across six international offices. We are supported by a deep bench of senior advisers, including former leaders of the US, UK and Australian intelligence services, former chairs of global banks and former managing partners of leading law firms.

Our intelligence supports senior decision-makers at the world’s leading companies, financial institutions and law firms. Our clients come to us for the independence and discretion of our work.

We provide intelligence to inform strategy relating to major corporate transactions, complex regulatory and policy matters, senior appointments and other critical commercial decisions.

We also advise clients in contentious situations, including fraud and misconduct investigations, legal disputes and asset recovery. Our dedicated cyber team provides specialist advice and support to help clients understand and manage an evolving threat environment.

The Role

A Manager leads the day-to-day execution of G3's engagements. In any given month, a Manager may help a deal team weigh the commercial risks in a major transaction or advise a client how shifting political dynamics should shape their positioning.

Much of this work is informed by G3's network – a global community of contacts cultivated over many years. Managers learn to draw on the network and turn what they gather into clear, well-organised analysis.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The subject matter varies widely, and Managers are expected to move between sectors, jurisdictions, and subject areas they may have had no prior exposure to. What matters is not what they already know, but the speed at which they can learn and the rigour they bring to the work once they do.

Managers are responsible for turning findings into a first-class written product. Much of our advice is also delivered on calls with senior clients, and we expect Managers to be articulate, precise, and reliable communicators.

What we are looking for

We are looking for candidates with at least five years' experience in law, finance, consulting, corporate strategy, strategic intelligence, government, or comparable environments.

We do not hire for a single profile, and our work benefits from a range of perspectives. Typically, strong candidates:

  • Are well organised and dependable, able to run several workstreams at once and keep a project moving.
  • Are investigative by instinct and natural problem solvers: curious, persistent, and resourceful in finding what they need.
  • Have high emotional intelligence and sound commercial judgement, quick to grasp what a client is really worried about and confident in advising them on it.
  • Are strong generalists, with an excellent academic background and a demonstrable interest in writing, reasoning, and learning.
  • We also look for people who want to be part of building something. G3 is a growing firm, and the people who thrive here not only deliver excellent client work but also help shape the firm itself.

What comes next

Managers own project execution, hone their client-facing skills, and provide guidance to junior colleagues on project engagements. The people who progress furthest do two things well:

  • They own the execution of projects and set the standard for the work around them;
  • They show early potential beyond delivery: taking an interest in clients, developing junior colleagues, and demonstrating the judgement and range that mark someone out as a future Director.

The route from Manager to Associate Director, where the role broadens to leading complex projects, managing client engagements and taking responsibility for small teams of their own.

What we offer

  • Salary: competitive, based on experience
  • Bonus and equity: competitive
  • Flexible working balance of home and office
  • Stakeholder pension contribution of 5%
  • Private medical insurance including generous terms of cover for both medical hospital, dental and mental health support for you, your partner and children (subject to T&Cs of the policy).
  • Life insurance – 4 x annual salary
  • 25 days holiday per year in addition to bank holidays
  • Cycle to work scheme

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and encourage applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of race, gender, disability or any other characteristic.

We conduct rolling interviews to ensure a timely hiring process, so candidates are encouraged to apply early, as the position may close once a suitable candidate is found.
