Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Role Overview

You’ll be the go-to tax advisor for Aurelius portfolio companies from post-acquisition to exit. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you design and scale tax functions, drive compliant and efficient outcomes, and prepare businesses for value-maximizing exits. The portfolio is growing, so the scope will evolve — ideal for someone who wants ownership, variety, and the intersection of tax, operations, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the strategic in-house tax advisor to portfolio executive teams from post-acquisition through exit.
  • Design, build, and upgrade tax functions to align with best practices and business goals.
  • Drive tax efficiency during the holding period with practical, scalable solutions.
  • Lead exit readiness on tax — structure, documentation, and risk management.
  • Lead/assist international tax planning initiatives across portfolio companies.
  • Optimize tax processes and controls; remediate non-compliance when identified.
  • Oversee compliance topics: returns and filings, transfer pricing, VAT, sales tax, WHT exemptions, CbC reporting.
  • Partner with the Deal Tax team on acquisitions: structure, tax risks, SPA topics, and other pre-closing workstreams.
