- Advise clients on complex UK VAT matters, including cross-border transactions, supply chains, place of supply, land and property, partial exemption and sector-specific VAT issues.
- Lead HMRC compliance activities, including VAT returns, Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements and correspondence relating to enquiries, rulings and assessments.
- Build strong client relationships, support business development initiatives, and work closely with Directors and Partners to deliver high-quality advisory services.
- Coach, mentor and review the work of junior team members, contributing to the continued growth and success of the Belfast Indirect Tax team.

- Proven ability to manage client relationships, communicate complex technical matters clearly, and deliver commercially focused solutions.
- Experience leading multiple engagements, managing competing priorities, and mentoring junior team members within a professional services environment.
- A proactive, collaborative and commercially minded approach, with strong communication skills and the right to work in the UK or Ireland.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
