We do this by working very closely with the broader Capgemini group to support our clients as holistically as possible, leveraging a wealth of technical expertise. We need people with strong consulting skills as well as skills in areas such as: Strategy & Innovation, P3M, Agile & Hybrid ways of working, Business Technology, Analytics, and Workforce & Organisational transformation.

We need good people who are action oriented with a desire to ‘get things done’. We pride ourselves being able to bring clarity and control to our client’s most complex and challenging programmes. As a Consultant within the Defence team you will primarily be Delivery focused, spending time with our clients – building relationships, growing trust and delivering tangible improvements and benefit.

In this role you will play a key role in:

  • Providing leadership of our engagements across Defence and MOD clients.
  • Supporting the growth and account development of the MOD account within the Public Sector Unit, leveraging networks, domain understanding and own technical capabilities.
  • Lead on developing MOD Capability and Acquisition knowledge across the MOD account.
  • Development of our people and leadership of our project teams delivering client engagements.
  • Be at the forefront of understanding of the latest innovation, technology development and transformation across Defence.
  • Working with our clients and engaging with Capability sponsors and end users to shape requirements, benefits and understand user journeys.

We are looking for candidates at either Senior Manager or Managing Consultant level dependent on experience.

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
  • Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

Your profile

Essential:

  • MOD Delivery Management - At least 5 years Delivery Experience within Defence/MOD; SM candidates – 10 years+.
  • Experience delivering/supporting Major Defence Programmes, across the CADMID cycle.
  • Military Domain Experience - Understanding of the Defence Operating model and experience working in either Front Line Commands (FLCs) or Enabling organisations across the National Armaments Director Group.
  • Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background
  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Selling into the MOD - Experience of proposition building and delivery.
  • Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network.

Desirable:

  • Domain/process knowledge of Air/RAF, National Armaments Director Group (NAD – G), including NAD-M, Digital & Data and Dstl.
  • Knowledge & Understanding of Defence approach to Change & Benefits Management.
  • Project, Programme, Portfolio Management (P3M) experience, including holding APM and MSP qualifications.
  • Experience working within Technology/IT programmes, inc. Secure Cloud, Data Fabrics, Software Delivery Lifecycle.
  • HMT Business Case development, including operational analysis and options appraisal.
  • Requirements Management.
  • User research, Business Analysis and Defence Business Change Management.
  • Defence approach to Training Development (incl. DSAT).
