The Client

A leading UK / International law firm. The firm is continuously ranked as a Tier 1 rated firm for numerous private client related practice groups. They have an outstanding client base acting on behalf of wide range of corporate and private clients, entrepreneurs, and high-profile figures.

The Team

The team acts on large and an interesting range of matters with a focus on cross-border personal tax advice and planning, with a particular focus on US-UK tax issues. The team advises high-profile individuals, families, family offices and hedge funds spanning the UK, Ireland, the USA and Latin America.

The Role

  • Take responsibility for a broad caseload of UK personal tax, trust and estate planning matters, providing high-quality technical support and independent judgement.
  • Advise on UK tax planning for formerly non-domiciled and internationally mobile clients, including the taxation of private placement life insurance, offshore trusts and companies and legacy remittance basis positions.
  • Support cross-border estate planning for UHNW individuals, families and family offices, coordinating with advisers in other jurisdictions as needed.
  • Help manage the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, including workflow, resourcing, billing oversight and client service standards.
  • Support business development activity, including client relationship management, proposals, thought leadership and profile-building initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers working on shared matters, contributing to their technical development.

Qualifications

  • Extensive prior experience acting on complex high value private wealth & tax matters.
  • The ideal level of experience would be across a range of approximately 7 - 14 pqe but the client is open to considering candidates outside this range.
  • Cross-border tax and trust experience involving the United States is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
