Senior Associate / Managing Associate - Employment law, Belfast, £Neg
Overview
Pathway Legal is delighted to be working with a leading law firm seeking to appoint an experienced Employment Solicitor at Senior Associate or Managing Associate level to join its growing employment practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious employment lawyer looking to take the next step in their career within a highly regarded team, advising on high-quality and often complex employment matters.
The successful candidate will join an established practice with an impressive client base and will have the opportunity to take significant responsibility for client relationships and matters while continuing to develop their profile and career.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise employers on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
- Manage complex employment matters and provide commercially focused, pragmatic advice.
- Advise on disciplinary and grievance matters, dismissals, discrimination, restructuring, and redundancy.
- Handle and oversee employment tribunal matters and other employment-related disputes.
- Draft and review employment contracts, policies, settlement agreements, and related documentation.
- Develop strong, trusted relationships with clients and provide ongoing strategic employment advice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm.
- Support and supervise more junior members of the team.
- Contribute to client development and the continued growth of the employment practice.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Qualified solicitor with strong experience in employment law.
- Appropriate experience for appointment at Senior Associate or Managing Associate level.
- Strong technical knowledge across contentious and advisory employment matters.
- Experience managing matters with a high degree of autonomy.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and client management skills.
- Commercial approach with the ability to understand clients’ wider business objectives.
- Confidence developing senior client relationships.
- Strong teamworking skills and an interest in contributing to the continued development of the practice.
