Managing Consultant
ICP Search | Brighton, England | Hybrid | Full-time
ICP is entering one of the most exciting periods in its history: a new brand, our 25th anniversary, a sharpened focus on the modern sports ecosystem, and the launch of our Australian office.
We’re looking for a high-performing Managing Consultant to join our Brighton team, lead senior executive-search work and help shape the next phase of ICP’s growth.
This role is for an experienced recruiter or executive-search professional with an established commercial track record, the appetite to build a specialist practice, and the capability to develop others along the way.
The opportunity
You will work across one or more of ICP’s core focus areas:
- Clubs, Leagues, Rights Holders & Federations
- Sporting, Performance & Medical
- Venues, Events & Live Experience
- Media, Content & Fan Platforms
- Technology, Data & Innovation
- Women’s Sport
You will have the opportunity to build and lead a market, sector practice or future team, supported by ICP’s established client relationships, global network and delivery infrastructure.
We would particularly welcome people who have recruited within, worked in, or built meaningful connections across the sports ecosystem. Exceptional executive-search professionals from adjacent sectors with the right commercial capability and motivation to move into sport are also encouraged to apply.
What you’ll do
- Win, lead and deliver complex senior executive-search mandates across one or more specialist markets.
- Own and deepen key client relationships, becoming a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders.
- Build and execute a commercial strategy for a sector, function or geography, with clear accountability for growth.
- Lead the full executive-search process: briefing, research, market mapping, candidate engagement, shortlist delivery, interview management, negotiation and completion.
- Mentor, develop and support junior consultants, researchers and delivery colleagues.
- Build a high-quality, visible market profile through sector insight, thought leadership, networking and relationship development.
- Identify opportunities to develop new services, key accounts, practice areas and future team capability.
- Play an active role in ICP’s rebrand, international growth plans and the development of the Australian office.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
