Position Overview

Marketing Services is part of Advisors & Consulting Services, Mastercard's professional services organisation.

Our team combines marketing expertise, consulting skills, proprietary data assets, technology platforms and execution capabilities to help clients solve business challenges and accelerate growth. We support clients across customer acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, reactivation and lifecycle marketing through data-driven marketing solutions and measurable business impact.

The Managing Consultant is a senior client-facing role responsible for leading marketing engagements from opportunity identification and solution design through execution and measurement. The role combines marketing strategy, delivery leadership, commercial accountability and stakeholder management, while leveraging Mastercard capabilities to drive measurable outcomes for clients.


Role

Client Impact & Delivery

  • Lead client marketing engagements across a range of business challenges and growth opportunities.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of marketing engagements from initial scoping through execution, measurement and closure.
  • Translate client objectives into practical marketing strategies, project plans and actionable recommendations.
  • Design and deliver programmes across customer acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, reactivation, product launches, value proposition development and lifecycle marketing.
  • Apply marketing, consulting and problem-solving expertise to address complex client challenges.

Marketing Expertise & Innovation

  • Leverage Mastercard data assets, analytics capabilities, technologies, personalisation platforms and partner ecosystem to create differentiated client solutions.
  • Use customer insight, analytics and performance data to inform recommendations and improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Monitor programme performance and identify optimisation opportunities that improve client outcomes and business impact.
  • Champion innovation through emerging marketing technologies, AI-enabled capabilities, personalisation and evolving industry best practices.

Commercial Ownership

  • Manage engagement budgets, delivery effort, project financials and resource planning to ensure profitable delivery.
  • Support proposal development, statements of work and client recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and contribute to revenue growth through additional engagements and solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of business KPIs, commercial drivers and client value creation.

Client & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and serve as a day-to-day advisor.
  • Own key relationships with mid-level and senior client stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively across Marketing Services, Analytics, Product, Strategy & Transformation, Business Development and external partner teams.
  • Influence decision making through compelling communication, structured thinking and clear storytelling.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams across multiple workstreams and client engagements.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and mentorship to junior consultants.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team environment.
  • Contribute to the development of Marketing Services methodologies, best practices, intellectual capital and capability building initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure adherence to Mastercard quality standards, brand guidelines, governance requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Manage project forecasting, utilisation, sourcing, invoicing, vendor management and delivery governance processes.
  • Maintain accurate project plans, reporting, documentation and project evaluations.

Typical Allocation of Time

  • 75% Client delivery, stakeholder management, commercial activities and project leadership
  • 25% Forecasting, sourcing, invoicing, vendor management, capability development, knowledge sharing and team responsibilities

Working Model

Hybrid working environment, with 3 days per week attendance at Mastercard offices and client locations in line with local policies and team agreements.

Marketing Expertise

  • Advanced expertise in marketing strategy, customer acquisition, activation, engagement, retention and lifecycle marketing.
  • Experience delivering integrated marketing programmes across digital and offline channels.
  • Strong understanding of CRM, personalisation, customer journeys and performance marketing.

Consulting & Client Leadership

  • Ability to structure complex problems and develop practical business solutions.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders and multiple concurrent client engagements.
  • Strong business judgement and commercial acumen.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities and support business development activities.

Analytics & Insight

  • Ability to leverage analytics, campaign performance data and customer insights to generate actionable recommendations.
  • Experience translating complex data into compelling stories and client-ready recommendations.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation and measurement approaches.

Team & Collaboration

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in matrixed environments.
  • Strong coaching and people development capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.

Industry Knowledge

  • Understanding of financial services products, customer behaviour, market trends and regulatory considerations.
  • Understanding of emerging marketing technologies, AI-enabled capabilities, digital ecosystems and evolving customer expectations.
