Managing Consultant, MarTech
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Managing Consultant, MarTech based in United Kingdom.
As a Managing Consultant, MarTech, you will own client engagements end-to-end, combining strategic consulting, technical leadership, relationship management, and commercial responsibility. You’ll work directly with senior marketing and growth stakeholders while remaining close enough to the technology to design solutions and challenge technical decisions. Acting as a player-coach, you’ll shape customer data and marketing technology strategies while directing engineers and implementation partners. You’ll identify opportunities for growth, connect recommendations to measurable business outcomes, and ensure solutions are delivered effectively. The role offers exposure to diverse industries, technology stacks, and clients across Europe and North America. It is ideal for an experienced consultant who enjoys moving between executive conversations, strategic problem-solving, and hands-on technical work.
Accountabilities
- Own client engagements from initial discovery through strategy, solution design, delivery, renewal, and expansion, acting as the primary relationship owner.
- Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders and serve as the senior point of contact when clients need strategic guidance or escalation.
- Run a consistent client cadence, including biweekly meetings, monthly roadmap and statement-of-work reviews, and quarterly business reviews.
- Maintain at least three months of planned work across each account while proactively monitoring budgets, utilization, pacing, and potential overages.
- Identify revenue opportunities across acquisition, conversion, and retention, connecting recommendations to measurable metrics and business outcomes.
- Develop growth roadmaps collaboratively with clients and demonstrate the commercial value of progressing toward greater levels of marketing and data maturity.
- Design customer data and MarTech architectures spanning customer data platforms, analytics, lifecycle messaging, warehouses, and integrations.
- Perform strategic hands-on work where needed, including taxonomy design, measurement planning, attribution modeling, segmentation logic, and quality assurance of critical implementations.
- Direct engineers and contract developers, review their work, and ensure technical delivery meets the agreed client objectives before reaching the customer.
- Delegate implementation work appropriately while remaining sufficiently technical to challenge estimates, identify weak solutions, and make informed architectural decisions.
- Support pre-sales through discovery, opportunity identification, scoping, proposal development, and live presentations.
- Build proposals covering scope, phasing, effort, investment, and business case, ensuring estimates are commercially viable and delivery expectations are realistic.
- Partner with Sales through qualification and closing, then transition opportunities into successful delivery where appropriate.
- Document, estimate, and secure written confirmation for all scope changes before additional work begins.
- Drive account expansion and contribute to commercial growth across the client portfolio.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
