Job Title: Managing Consultant - Retail
Salary: £80,000 - £100,000
Location / Working Model: UK | Hybrid working

We are working with a specialist consulting organisation that partners with leading retail and FMCG businesses to solve complex commercial and operational challenges. Combining industry expertise with advanced analytics and AI, the business helps organisations rethink how they plan, trade and grow. You’ll have the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, lead high-value client programmes and develop talented consultants while helping shape the future of technology-enabled consulting.
The Managing Consultant will lead complex transformation engagements, build trusted executive relationships, and drive commercial growth, while ensuring teams deliver practical solutions that create lasting business value.
Role Highlights
- Lead major retail and FMCG transformation programmes, setting strategic direction and delivery standards across multiple workstreams.
- Shape operating models and transformation roadmaps, applying AI, automation and commercial insight to improve business performance.
- Advise senior stakeholders, challenge existing thinking and influence decisions through compelling presentations and evidence-led business cases.
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships, develop proposals and contribute directly to revenue and margin performance.
- Lead and mentor consultants, strengthening delivery quality, strategic thinking and the wider consulting capability.

You Will Need
- 8+ years’ experience in retail or FMCG consulting, or a combination of consulting and industry leadership.
- A proven track record leading complex transformation programmes and influencing senior executive stakeholders.
- Recognised expertise in at least one area such as merchandising, demand planning, retail strategy, change or AI enablement.
- Experience shaping and delivering technology-enabled transformation, with an understanding of retail systems and practical risk management.
- Strong commercial judgement, executive-level communication skills and the ability to develop high-performing teams and client relationships.
