Managing Consultant
Location: Hybrid, UK with an Aldwych Office Salary: £70,000–100,000 (dependent on level and experience) + bonus schemes

About the Role
As a Managing Consultant, you will:
- Lead complex client engagements and set the strategic direction for delivery.
- Operate as a senior trusted advisor, shaping transformation roadmaps, influencing executive stakeholders, and ensuring AI and consulting capabilities translate into measurable business value.
- Oversee delivery quality, team leadership, and commercial performance across your portfolio while driving growth and new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Problem Solving
- Lead high-complexity programmes and define strategic frameworks for retail and FMCG clients.
- Integrate cross-functional insight to shape major business decisions.
- Design operating models and transformation roadmaps embedding AI/automation for measurable impact.
- Steer innovation and process excellence, setting standards for analytical rigor.
Client Leadership & Influence
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior/executive stakeholders, driving strategic decisions.
- Lead multi-stakeholder engagements by aligning priorities and driving sustainable change.
- Create and deliver executional-level presentations and business cases.
- Inspire innovative thinking through structured storytelling and insight.

AI & Technology-Enabled Transformation
- Identify and prioritise AI/data use cases aligned to commercial outcomes.
- Translate business needs into structured technical requirements and collaborate with data science/product teams.
- Lead AI solution deployment, ensuring adoption, scalability, and KPI-driven performance.
- Define strategic technology leveraging across client environments.
Commercial Ownership & Growth
- Expand strategic accounts and secure new business opportunities.
- Shape and close proposals, directly impacting revenue and margin performance.
- Grow Aria’s industry visibility and build partnerships/networks.
- Contribute to service innovation and thought leadership.
Team Leadership & Development
- Line manage Senior Consultants and Consultants, nurturing their growth—but discipline, and impact.
- Provide clear, actionable direction and constructive challenges for high-quality delivery.
- Foster a high-performing, values-led culture with collaboration and accountability.
- Guide consulting capabilities alongside leadership initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Core Requirements
- 8+ years in retail/FMCG consulting (or relevant industry leadership).
- Demonstrated leadership of multi-workstream transformation programmes.
- Proven ability to influence senior/executive stakeholders.
- AI/technology-enablement experience in transformation delivery.

- Subject-matter expertise in areas such as Merchandising, Demand Planning, Retail Strategy, AI Enablement.

- Expertise in retail systems ecosystem and market trends.
- Experience in large-scale business transformation with pragmatic risk management.
Leadership & Influence
- Executive-level communication presence and high emotional intelligence.
- Track record of mentoring high-performing teams and external visibility/engagement.
