Managing Director

Cardiff | Six-figure package

Vargo Group is recruiting a Managing Director for an established housing business providing temporary and supportive accommodation in partnership with local authorities.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who understands the housing sector, its customers, or both. You could bring experience from a housing or accommodation provider, or from a local authority or another organisation commissioning and managing these services. What matters is the ability to turn that understanding into strong commercial performance, reliable operations and good outcomes for residents.

The role

  • Set the direction of the business and translate its priorities into a clear, achievable operating plan.
  • Lead the management team, establishing clear accountability and developing the people and systems needed to support the business.
  • Oversee commercial and operational performance, balancing financial discipline with service quality.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local-authority customers and other key partners.
  • Identify opportunities to develop the accommodation portfolio and services in response to customer needs.
  • Maintain a strong focus on property standards, resident welfare, safeguarding and effective risk management.
  • Use clear reporting and performance measures to identify issues early and improve delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
