Managing Director - Health, Wellness & Longevity Start-up

Location

London

Salary

Up to £100k + significant equity

Every so often, a role comes along that is much closer to building a business than joining one.

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial MD to take the reins of an early-stage consumer brand with big ambitions in health, wellness and longevity. The product is live, customers are buying it and the foundations have been laid but much of the opportunity is still ahead.

Working with a credible founder who wants to step back from the day to day, you’ll have the autonomy to shape the direction of the business, identify the biggest opportunities and then make them happen.

This is a genuinely hands-on role. You could be developing partnerships and new routes to market one day, working through the commercial plan and numbers the next, then switching into brand, marketing or operations. You won’t be inheriting a team or an established playbook; you’ll be building both as the business grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We’re looking for someone who has already operated in an MD, GM, COO, Chief of Staff or similarly broad leadership role, ideally within an early-stage or founder-led consumer business. You’ll be commercially sharp, comfortable moving between strategy and execution and, above all, someone who gets things done without needing lots of infrastructure around you.

A genuine connection to the health, beauty, wellness or longevity space is important, along with an interest in building a brand rooted in healthier living.

The compensation package reflects where the business is today and will grow as the business does, but the real opportunity here is in the ownership and long-term upside. There is meaningful equity on the table and, for the right person, this should feel much closer to a co-founder opportunity than a conventional MD role.

We’re open to both permanent and fractional conversations for the right person.

If you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to get in early, have real ownership and build something from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you – kelly@jdand.co.uk
