Managing Director – Deep Tech / Additive Manufacturing

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a capable Managing Director to join a growing, deep-tech company at the forefront of Additive Manufacturing and Industrial Innovation.

We are looking for a dynamic leader with the ability to set strategic direction, drive commercial success, and inspire a high-performing team through the company’s next stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver strategic growth plans, aligning operations, technology, and business development.
  • Lead commercial activities, including sales, marketing, partnerships, and brand positioning.
  • Oversee financial management, including forecasting, reporting, and investor relations.
  • Play a pivotal role in fundraising and capital raising to accelerate expansion.
  • Build and nurture a motivated, high-performing team through talent acquisition, development, and retention.
  • Ensure strong governance, compliance, and risk management across the business.
  • Collaborate closely with technical leadership to bring cutting-edge technologies into industrial application.

Ideal Candidate

  • Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences is beneficial, with strong financial and commercial acumen. A candidate who has progressed into general and business management, from an accountancy background, qualified either ACA, ACCA, or ACMA, could also be suitable.
  • Proven executive leadership experience in a commercial technology environment, ideally within additive manufacturing, advanced engineering, or industrial technology.
  • Track record in fundraising and leading on securing investment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at every level.
  • Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable operating in a start-up/scale-up environment.
