You've built or run something. You know the difference between a business that's simply well-run and one that's genuinely alive with possibility.
This is that business. A highly successful group, many years in the market, now backed by serious capital and actively pursuing growth through acquisition and expansion. They're not talking about growth. They're doing it. Multiple acquisition conversations happening right now. New sites on the roadmap and a platform being built.
This role is to be the leader of a £20m meat business, reporting into the group board. You will be running a 24/7 business with precision, bringing a team forward with confidence, and stepping into the role as the business scales. This is your chance to operate at real scale, with genuine backing, in a business where entrepreneurial thinking translates directly into impact.
About the business
A £20m protein business in North London, now part of a wider platform strategy with multiple bolt-on acquisitions in active discussion, with further expansion plans across the UK. Now is an incredible time to join.
The role
You run all operational aspects, production, logistics, commercial delivery, reporting into monthly board meetings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The group wants a proven operator at real MD or equivalent level. Someone entrepreneurial, affable, and genuinely comfortable navigating SME business dynamics. Someone who makes things happen without breaking the culture. Someone who sees where a business can scale and drives it.
There's real scope here. Active conversations around new sites. Further acquisition targets in the pipeline. ERP implementation coming. This role sits at the centre of those decisions. If you've done ERP implementation, that's a genuine plus. But more than that, they want someone who can see the platform opportunity and help build it.
What we're looking for
You will be an entrepreneurial operator in meat. You make things happen. You're comfortable with detail but you don't get lost in it. You see what needs to happen and you drive it.
Affable and genuinely good with people. You read the room, you're not demanding change for change's sake, you bring people forward because they trust you.
Someone who understands SME business succession. You've navigated teams through significant change before. You can honour where a business has come from while building credibility for what it's becoming.

In the words of the board, we're looking for a "spot on, quality person"... "we are an open book... keen to see who is out there".
Salary Package
- Salary - very negotiable; this could certainly flex for the right candidate but as a starting point we believe around the £100-120k base, plus package feels about right. To be clear, the group are open to paying what they need to for the right person.
- Benefits - Company car, bonus/LTIP, private healthcare, pension, 2x life assurance.
- Location - London-based, ideally local or commutable (early starts are part of the role). Open to relocation for the right candidate.
This is an unbelievable opportunity. A business with scale, ambition, and real backing. A platform being built right now. And a role where the right operator can genuinely do something special.
If you have a strong background in meat production, have held full P&L responsibility, and open to hearing more, do apply today.
