Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Owning the AI architectural doctrine, governing how AI is embedded across the full Capital Markets product suite.
- Establishing the AI governance and model policy — covering model selection, prompt and RAG management and audit trace retention in a regulated environment.
- Representing the architecture externally, facing off to regulators, external auditors, and clients on AI governance, risk frameworks, and architectural decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

To be eligible for this role you will require:
- Hands-on experience building or architecting front-office trading, pricing, or risk systems within a capital markets environment is essential.
- Production-grade AI systems architecture experience — agentic frameworks, LLM orchestration, RAG, model governance, and AI/deterministic execution boundary design.
- A proven track record of defining architectural direction independently.
- Experience engaging regulators, external auditors, and clients on model governance, AI risk, and architectural compliance.
- The seniority and gravitas to operate at CTO level — executive presence, strategic framing, and the confidence to define and defend a multi-year AI vision.
