Build a Business. Shape an Industry.
UK | Hybrid | £120,000–£150,000 + Executive Bonus + Long-Term Incentive
55 Exec Search has been exclusively retained to appoint a Managing Director on behalf of a highly respected founder-led business operating within the UK's Circular Economy, Recycling and Resource Management sector.
This isn't a business that simply manages waste.
It's a business helping organisations rethink how resources are recovered, recycled and reused, delivering smarter, more sustainable solutions that reduce environmental impact while creating commercial value.
With strong foundations already in place, the founders are now looking for an exceptional leader to take the business into its next phase of growth.
This is a rare opportunity to lead an established organisation with an excellent reputation, accelerate its commercial growth, strengthen its leadership team, expand through strategic acquisitions and maximise long-term enterprise value.
If you're motivated by building businesses rather than simply running them, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Please note: Due to the specialist nature of this appointment, applicants should have significant senior leadership experience within the UK Circular Economy, Recycling, Resource Management or Environmental Services sector to be considered.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
