Job Description

Our Vision

Our vision is to give everyone the belief they can make their move. We aim to make moving simpler, by giving everyone the best place to turn to and return to for access to the tools, expertise, trust, and belief to make it happen. We’re home to the UK’s largest choice of properties and are the go-to destination for millions of people planning their next move, reading the latest industry news, or just browsing what’s on the market.

About the Role

The Managing Director is responsible for the performance and strategic direction of Rightmove's Commercial, Overseas and Data Services businesses. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the role leads three distinct business areas with different commercial models, partner needs, and growth opportunities. Working with the Group Leadership Team, the Managing Director sets the long-term direction for each business, develops annual plans, and ensures sustainable revenue and profit growth.

The role combines commercial leadership, strategic judgement, partner engagement, and people leadership to deliver exceptional outcomes for partners and Rightmove.

Scope of Role

The Managing Director has overall accountability for the Commercial, Overseas and Data Services businesses. The role has two direct reports:

  • Director – Overseas & Data Services
  • Sales Director – Commercial

It also provides leadership to a wider cross-functional leadership team comprising:

  • Two Heads of Product
  • Finance Business Partner
  • Marketing Manager

Working through this leadership team, the Managing Director sets priorities, allocates resources, and ensures delivery against agreed objectives, while building strong relationships across the Group Leadership Team and with Product, Marketing, Finance, Strategy, and Revenue.

What You'll Be Doing

Strategy, Planning & Performance

  • Own the revenue, profitability, and overall performance of the businesses.
  • Set long-term strategy and lead annual business planning, budgets, and growth targets.
  • Understand the financial drivers of each business and prioritise investment and resources to maximise commercial returns.

Commercial & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Identify and execute opportunities to accelerate growth across existing and new revenue streams.
  • Build strong relationships with key partners and lead significant commercial negotiations where required.
  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Finance to strengthen propositions, support investment decisions, and deliver business plans.
  • Monitor market trends, partner needs, and competitive activity to shape future strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
