A major global investment institution is seeking an exceptional senior investment professional to lead its China platform as part of a significant expansion of its international investment activities.
This is a highly strategic leadership appointment combining investment origination, strategic partnerships and senior stakeholder engagement.
The successful individual will have the opportunity to help shape the institution's long-term investment strategy in China, working alongside global investment teams and with access to significant long-term capital.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the institution's China investment presence and strategy.
- Originate significant direct investment and strategic partnership opportunities.
- Identify opportunities across private equity, technology, advanced industries, energy, infrastructure, real estate and other strategic sectors.
- Develop relationships with leading Chinese corporates, entrepreneurs, investment institutions, financial sponsors and family investment groups.
- Build and maintain senior relationships across government, SOEs, financial institutions and other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with global investment teams on the evaluation, structuring and execution of major transactions.
- Develop co-investment, JV and strategic partnership opportunities with leading local and international investors.
- Provide senior-level market intelligence and insight into China's evolving investment landscape.
- Represent the institution at the highest levels across China.
- Build and lead the China platform as the organisation continues its international expansion.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for an established investment leader with ideally 20+ years of experience and a significant track record of investing in China.
Candidates are likely to have developed their careers within a leading:
- Sovereign or government-backed investment institution
- Global private equity or alternative investment firm
- Pension or institutional investment platform
- Major Chinese investment or holding company
- International investment institution with significant China exposure
Candidates should demonstrate genuine direct investment experience, including origination, underwriting, structuring, negotiation, execution and portfolio/board involvement.

A broad investment background across multiple sectors would be particularly attractive.
The successful individual should also possess a highly developed network across the Chinese corporate, investment and institutional ecosystem, with the credibility to engage at senior levels with government-related organisations, SOEs, financial institutions and major international partners.
