Managing Director

Salary: £125,000 pro rata
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (0.6 FTE)
Location: Remote, with regular travel across Great Britain and Ireland

The Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) is seeking to appoint its first-ever Managing Director.
This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK's leading clinical membership organisations at a pivotal moment in its development. ACPGBI represents more than 1,000 colorectal surgeons, specialist nurses and allied health professionals and plays a fundamental role in advancing education, research, clinical standards and professional leadership across the specialty.
As the Association embarks on an ambitious new phase of growth and development, we are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to work in partnership with our elected clinical leadership and Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will help shape the future of the organisation, strengthening our operating model, enhancing member value, developing key stakeholder relationships and ensuring ACPGBI is well positioned to deliver its strategic ambitions for years to come.
About the Role
Reporting to the Board of Trustees and working closely with the President, Executive Officers and wider committee structure, the Managing Director will provide the executive leadership, operational expertise and organisational focus required to translate strategic ambitions into practical and measurable outcomes.

About You
We are interested in hearing from individuals who can demonstrate:
- Experience leading organisational change, transformation or modernisation.
- A track record of working effectively with boards, trustees, committees or volunteer leaders.
- Success in translating strategy into delivery and measurable outcomes.
- Strong financial, commercial and operational leadership capability.
- Experience developing productive partnerships with external stakeholders, sponsors or commercial partners.
Whilst experience within a membership organisation, professional body, learned society, Royal College, healthcare organisation or charity environment would be advantageous, we are open to candidates from a range of sectors who can demonstrate the leadership, judgement and collaborative approach required to succeed in a complex stakeholder-led organisation.
