Managing Partner — Capital & Strategic Partnerships

Company Description

AfriPay is building the next generation of cross-border financial infrastructure for Africa. We are creating a modern global payments platform that enables individuals and businesses to move money seamlessly across borders through multi-currency accounts, virtual cards, stablecoin infrastructure, and intelligent payment solutions.

Our mission is to remove the barriers preventing Africans from participating fully in the global economy. While our initial focus includes solving payment challenges for international education, AfriPay is evolving into a broader financial ecosystem that empowers businesses, students, freelancers, exporters, and global professionals with fast, secure, and compliant financial services.

Backed by an ambitious vision, cutting-edge technology, and a rapidly expanding market opportunity, AfriPay is building the infrastructure powering Africa's financial future.

Role Description

AfriPay is seeking an exceptional Managing Partner — Capital & Strategic Partnerships to join the leadership team and play a critical role in the company's next phase of growth.

The primary mandate of this role is to lead capital-raising initiatives and build strategic relationships that accelerate AfriPay's growth, market access, institutional credibility, and long-term enterprise value.

The Managing Partner will work closely with the Founder, executive leadership, and board to develop and execute AfriPay's fundraising strategy, cultivate relationships with investors and financial institutions, and establish strategic partnerships across Africa and international markets.

This is a highly relationship-driven and commercially strategic role. The successful candidate will be expected to leverage an established network and develop new relationships across venture capital, private equity, family offices, development finance institutions, banks, fintechs, payment companies, technology companies, corporations, and other strategic partners.

The Managing Partner will also support the broader corporate strategy of AfriPay and participate in major decisions relating to expansion, partnerships, capital allocation, and business development.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Raising & Investor Relations

  • Lead and coordinate AfriPay's capital-raising strategy across equity, strategic investment, institutional capital, and other appropriate funding sources.
  • Identify, research, and develop relationships with venture capital firms, private equity firms, family offices, DFIs, institutional investors, strategic investors, and other capital providers.
  • Build and maintain a strong investor pipeline and manage investor relationships throughout the fundraising process.
  • Initiate and lead investor conversations, meetings, presentations, negotiations, and follow-ups.
  • Develop compelling investment narratives, fundraising materials, financial discussions, and strategic presentations in collaboration with the Founder and finance team.
  • Position AfriPay effectively within the African and global fintech investment ecosystem.
  • Identify potential strategic investors who can provide not only capital but also market access, distribution, technology, banking relationships, and other strategic advantages.
  • Support negotiations relating to valuation, investment structures, strategic terms, and other transaction considerations.
  • Maintain regular communication with existing and prospective investors and strategic stakeholders.
  • Support preparation for future funding rounds and develop a long-term capital strategy aligned with AfriPay's growth plans.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
