Managing Principal Consultant – General Insurance
Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Insurance, Business Consulting | Type: Permanent
The Role
We are looking for a Managing Principal Consultant with deep General Insurance expertise to support and deliver high-impact projects for our UK clients. This role blends strategic leadership, delivery, and hands-on consulting across digital transformation, data, regulatory change, and AI-enabled business transformation. You'll collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to align business and technology priorities while helping expand Capco's insurance consulting practice. You'll also encourage the responsible use of approved AI tools and AI-enabled workflows to improve delivery quality, accelerate insight, and enhance client outcomes, applying appropriate human judgement and governance throughout.
What You'll Do
- Deliver complex change and transformation programmes across the General Insurance sector, using AI-enabled approaches where appropriate to improve efficiency, insight, and delivery quality.
- Support initiatives across digital transformation, data, regulatory change, AI, and agile ways of working.
- Engage senior client stakeholders, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure successful value delivery, embedding responsible AI practices and appropriate governance throughout delivery.
- Support business development activities, contributing to client growth and account development, including identifying opportunities where AI can create measurable business value.
- Build trusted partnerships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders across business and technology domains, encouraging practical adoption of AI-enabled ways of working aligned to client objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience of consultancy within the General Insurance sector.
- Strong track record delivering large-scale transformation programmes and complex change initiatives.
- Deep knowledge of insurance operations, including data governance, digital enablement, target operating model design, and an understanding of how AI can enhance business and technology transformation.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to support senior leaders in the responsible adoption of AI where appropriate.
- Experience of generating revenue within a consulting environment, while developing and managing senior client relationships, along with curiosity to explore approved AI tools and automation to improve delivery, productivity, and insight.

Bonus Points For
- Experience supporting agile transformation initiatives and product ownership.
- Strong knowledge of UK General Insurance regulatory change programmes, including awareness of AI governance and regulatory considerations.
- Experience designing and implementing target operating models that incorporate AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate.
- An established professional network with experience developing new client opportunities.
- Experience using or advising on AI (including Generative AI or Agentic AI), automation, or AI-enabled workflows within Financial Services organisations.
