Managing Quantity Surveyor

Major Transmission & Overhead Line Infrastructure Projects | Scotland

£750/day PAYE | Inside IR35 Long-Term Contract | Until June 2027

We are recruiting for two Managing Quantity Surveyors to support the delivery of major electricity transmission infrastructure projects across Scotland. These roles sit within a leading UK utility and infrastructure contractor delivering critical upgrades to the high-voltage transmission network.

Working on large-scale Overhead Line (OHL) and power infrastructure schemes, you will play a key role in ensuring robust commercial management throughout project delivery, helping facilitate network reinforcement, renewable energy integration, and future energy security.

The Role

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial performance of major transmission projects from delivery through to final account, working closely with project, operational, and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all commercial and contractual activities across assigned projects.
  • Managing cost reporting, forecasting, and cost/value reconciliation.
  • Administering NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management.
  • Managing project risks, opportunities, and commercial governance.
  • Preparing applications for payment, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Procuring and managing subcontract packages.
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor applications and payments.
  • Producing accurate monthly commercial reports and forecasts.
  • Supporting operational teams to maximize project profitability.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships across project and client teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual and company commercial procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
