Managing Quantity Surveyor

Are you a commercially astute Managing Quantity Surveyor ready to step into a broader leadership role or an established Commercial Manager looking for a fresh challenge within a high-performing contractor?

An established and fast-growing infrastructure and civil engineering contractor is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager to play a key role in driving commercial performance across a diverse portfolio of works in West Yorkshire.

You'll be joining a business where commercial professionals are trusted, visible, and integral to strategic decision-making - not just project delivery.

The Role

Depending on your level, you will either step into or grow into a leadership position with responsibility for:

  • Overseeing the commercial performance of multiple projects or frameworks
  • Managing and mentoring junior and intermediate QS team members
  • Leading on contractual matters, negotiations, and risk management
  • Driving cost control, forecasting, and reporting
  • Supporting senior leadership in commercial strategy and business improvement

This role offers a clear pathway into a senior leadership position for the right individual.

What we're looking for

  • Experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within civil engineering, infrastructure, or contracting environments
  • Strong understanding of commercial processes, contracts, and project delivery
  • Proven ability (or clear potential) to lead, mentor, and develop others
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
