Mandarin Speaking-Banking Business Intelligence Developer

About the Role
Our client, a leading international bank based in London, is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join its IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BI / Data / Reporting Developer with a strong background in banking or financial services. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining the Bank’s BI, regulatory reporting and data solutions, working across SQL/ETL, reporting platforms and regulatory reporting systems. Experience with Axiom/Axiom SL would be a strong advantage, although candidates with solid banking BI/SQL/ETL and regulatory reporting experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain the Bank’s BI and regulatory reporting systems, supporting both management and UK regulatory reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain regulatory reporting solutions covering areas such as COREP, FINREP, Liquidity, EMIR and MiFID.
- Design, develop and maintain SQL queries, ETL processes, data transformation and reporting logic.
- Support the development and maintenance of BI, reporting, ETL and automation/RPA solutions.
- Carry out day-to-day technical support and monitoring of critical reporting and related banking applications.
- Ensure reporting systems operate reliably and regulatory reports are delivered accurately and within required deadlines.
- Work closely with Finance, Risk, Compliance and other business stakeholders to understand business and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and system solutions.
- Coordinate with internal development teams, Head Office and external vendors on system development, upgrades and enhancements.
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, UAT, implementation and go-live.
- Support regulatory and system changes relating to PRA, FCA, Bank of England, Basel and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assist with system resilience, data security, vulnerability management and business continuity requirements.
- Maintain appropriate technical documentation, operating procedures and system controls.

Candidate Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in BI development, database development, data/reporting systems or a similar technical role.
- Previous experience within banking or financial services is highly desirable.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and database technologies, ideally Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Good experience with ETL, data transformation and reporting logic.
- Experience supporting or developing financial or regulatory reporting solutions.
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, testing, UAT and implementation.
- Understanding of data warehouse and data lake architecture.
- Knowledge of database concepts such as performance tuning, indexes and triggers would be advantageous.
- Experience with Axiom/AxiomSL, particularly within regulatory reporting, would be a strong advantage.
- Exposure to COREP, FINREP, Liquidity, EMIR or MiFID reporting would be highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Language
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Mandarin Chinese language capability is required due to regular communication and coordination with Head Office.
Desirable
- Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
- Previous experience working with banking regulatory reporting platforms.
- Experience coordinating technical projects between UK business teams, overseas Head Office development teams and third-party vendors.
