Job Purpose:

We are recruiting a mandarin-speaking HRBP to provide both operational and strategic support to the HR team. The successful candidate will involve a lot of hands-on work in all aspects of the HR functions. Key areas include resourcing and recruitment, organisation development, employee life cycle management, performance management, employee relations, payroll and staff benefits and supporting other HR or operational projects when required.

Person Specification:

Essential skills & experience:

  • Degree in HR or relevant subjects
  • Proficient in both Mandarin and English
  • Have in-depth knowledge in UK Employment law, GDPR, and immigration regulations
  • At least 3 years working experience of the entire HR Cycle
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously improve HR processes to support business objectives
  • Ability to provide highly accurate and quality work all the time
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong administrative writing skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality and a high degree of integrity and professionalism
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Desirable skills & experience:

  • CIPD level 5 or above
  • Have work experience in a multi-cultural environment

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the end-to-end recruitment and talent acquisition process, including candidate sourcing, interviewing, onboarding and offboarding.
  • Coordinate the company's expatriate programme, providing HR support for international assignments and employee relations matters involving both UK-based and Chinese expatriate employees.
  • Partner with line managers and employees to provide proactive HR advice and guidance across the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation.
  • Manage HR administration activities, including employment contracts, contractual changes, induction programmes and exit processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR data within the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and compliance with GDPR requirements.
  • Coordinate the monthly payroll process by preparing and validating payroll data for submission to the external payroll provider, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Administer employee benefits programmes, including pension, private medical insurance, relocation support and other employee benefits.
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing and organisational development initiatives to foster a positive and high-performing workplace.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the UK and China teams, supporting cross-cultural HR initiatives and business operations.
  • Prepare and review bilingual (English and Chinese) HR documentation, reports and communications.
  • Lead or support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring successful delivery within agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Coordinate HR support for senior leadership visits, VIP events and other corporate activities involving headquarters and international stakeholders.
  • Provide professional English-Chinese translation and interpretation support for HR, operational and business activities where required.
  • Support organisational development and change management initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Coordinate UK-China knowledge transfer programmes and facilitate cross-border collaboration and capability development.
