Cargo Operations

  • Independently manage the end-to-end execution of Jet Fuel and Biofuel (incl. SAF, HVO) cargoes.
  • Coordinate seagoing vessel operations including nominations, laycan management and terminal scheduling.
  • Manage inland barge logistics, including Rhine river movements to inland terminals and airports.
  • Coordinate pipeline (including CEPS where applicable) and other aviation fuel distribution systems for inland airport supply.
  • Liaise with terminals, ship owners, barge operators, surveyors and shipping agents to ensure smooth cargo movements.
  • Monitor cargo loading/discharge and proactively resolve operational issues to minimise delays.

Operational Planning & Trader Support

  • Work closely with traders to develop optimal logistics strategies for cargo movements and storage.
  • Provide operational insights on ARA logistics constraints, including tank availability, barge capacity and port scheduling.
  • Advise traders on logistical feasibility, operational risks and cost optimisation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve cargo scheduling, tank utilisation and supply chain efficiency.

Customs & Regulatory Operations

  • Manage EU import procedures for seaborne cargoes arriving in ARA ports.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers and terminals to ensure proper customs clearance and documentation.
  • Oversee documentation related to customs declaration, bonded storage and excise duty suspension.
  • Ensure compliance with EU customs and regulatory requirements.

Tank Storage & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Coordinate with ARA storage terminals regarding tank operation, blending and stock transfers.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory levels and stock positions.
  • Ensure efficient coordination between import cargoes, storage and downstream deliveries.

Quality, Assurance & Claims Management

  • Implement cargo assurance procedures for Jet A-1 and biofuel, including blended SAF.
  • Coordinate sampling, testing, and inspection with surveyors and laboratories.
  • Manage operational claims including demurrage, quality, and quantity disputes.
  • Ensure timely submission of demurrage documentation to avoid time-bar issues.
  • Coordinate cargo insurance and support resolution of operational disputes with traders and legal teams.

Systems & Documentation

  • Maintain operational data within internal systems and support month-end stock reconciliation.
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for cargo movements and transactions.
  • Provide support in managing biofuel compliance and related documentation.
  • Review operational and logistical clauses in sales and purchase contracts to ensure feasibility and alignment with deal terms.
  • Coordinate with legal teams on contract review to mitigate operational risks.
  • Oversee invoicing and transaction cost frameworks including freight, storage, inspection, and ancillary charges.
  • Coordinate with finance and counterparties to ensure accurate and timely settlement.

  • Undertake such other duties, tasks or projects as may reasonably be assigned from time to time in line with the nature and seniority of the role.

Requirements

  • Degree level education preferred in Maritime, Business, Finance, or other quantitative disciplines, but not essential where candidates have strong relevant experience.
  • 7–10 years experience in refined products or jet fuel operations.
  • Strong hands-on end-to-end experience managing seagoing vessel cargoes and inland barge logistics.
  • Proven experience working within the ARA refined products trading hub.
  • Experience with Rhine river barge logistics.
  • Experience with EU import procedures and customs clearance.
  • Experience in biofuel (e.g. SAF, HVO) operations.
