Financial Due Diligence Team Expansion in TMT Sector

A leading consulting firm is looking to grow its Financial Due Diligence (FDD) team within its Transaction Services practice, with a specific focus on the Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT) sector. This is a high-growth area of the business, and the firm is investing significantly in building out the team across Manager and Senior Manager levels.

The team works across mid-market and large-cap M&A transactions, with a particular focus on the technology sub-sector, where private equity deal activity is especially strong. The firm operates a flexible, national working model, allowing candidates to be based in London or in a regional office while working as part of one national sector team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements for M&A transactions involving technology, media and telecoms businesses.
  • Analyse historical and projected financial performance, quality of earnings, working capital, net debt and cash flow trends to identify key value and risk drivers for clients.
  • Take ownership of engagement delivery, managing project timelines, team resourcing and client communication from planning through to final reporting.
  • Draft clear, insight-driven due diligence reports and presentations that translate complex financial analysis into practical deal considerations for corporate and private equity clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with private equity houses, corporate clients and other deal stakeholders (lawyers, lenders, management teams).
  • Contribute to business development activity, including pitches, proposals and thought leadership, to support the team's growth ambitions in the TMT sector.
  • Coach, develop and mentor junior team members, contributing to a growing, high-performing sector team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider Transaction Services and TMT sector group, including specialists based in other regions, to deliver a joined-up national sector proposition.
  • For more senior candidates: contribute to the strategic direction of the TMT FDD offering, including client targeting and business development priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
