Role Overview
The Manhattan WMS Specialist will be responsible for serving as the functional expert for the Manhattan Warehouse Management System, ensuring warehouse operations run efficiently through system configuration, operational support, troubleshooting, and documentation. The Manhattan WMS Specialist will configure warehouse workflows, support warehouse users, monitor system interfaces, investigate functional issues, and collaborate with Operations teams to implement continuous improvements. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on Manhattan WMS experience who enjoys bridging warehouse operations and technology.

Key Responsibilities
WMS Configuration & Administration
- Configure and maintain Manhattan WMS based on business requirements.
- Configure warehouse processes, including putaway rules, allocation rules, slotting configuration, barcode/UPC/serial number scanning, and warehouse process workflows.
- Implement configuration updates in collaboration with Operations teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the WMS environment.
System Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor API integrations, FTP file transfers, and system interface queues.
- Review system error logs and troubleshoot functional configuration issues before escalating when appropriate.
- Investigate operational system issues affecting warehouse users.
- Resolve functional issues that impact warehouse efficiency and system performance.

Documentation & User Support
- Create user documentation and training materials following system configuration changes.
- Update onboarding documentation, SOPs, and warehouse process guides.
- Provide functional guidance and support to warehouse users.
- Ensure documentation accurately reflects current warehouse processes and system functionality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations teams to implement configuration updates.
- Gather business requirements and translate operational needs into WMS configurations.
- Support process improvement initiatives that enhance warehouse productivity and system performance.
Qualifications
Experience
- 2+ years of hands-on Manhattan WMS configuration experience.
- Experience configuring warehouse rules and operational workflows.
- Experience troubleshooting functional WMS issues and interpreting system error logs.
- Experience supporting warehouse operations within a WMS environment.
- Previous experience supporting 3PL warehouse operations is preferred.
- Experience creating training documentation, onboarding materials, and SOPs is preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and Warehouse Management Systems.
- Hands-on experience with Manhattan WMS.
- Familiarity with APIs, FTP file transfers, and system interfaces.
- Experience with Manhattan Green Screen / AS400 is preferred.
- Experience using SQL for troubleshooting and data validation is preferred.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to independently investigate and resolve functional system issues.

What Success Looks Like
- Manhattan WMS is accurately configured to support efficient warehouse operations.
- Functional system issues are identified, investigated, and resolved quickly while complex technical issues are escalated appropriately.
- Warehouse users receive clear documentation and training materials following system and process updates.
- Configuration updates are implemented successfully in partnership with Operations teams.
- System interfaces, file transfers, and error logs are proactively monitored to minimize operational disruptions.
- The WMS Specialist becomes a trusted subject matter expert, driving continuous process improvements across warehouse operations.
