Manufacturing Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a world-leading manufacturer of heavy equipment and engineered products, known for delivering innovative solutions across construction, mining, infrastructure, and industrial sectors based in Stockton-on-Tees.
This is a hands-on, shop-floor-focused position supporting welding, fabrication, and associated production areas. You will work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues, improve processes, and support changes to manufacturing methods, equipment, and tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support across welding and fabrication
- Investigate production issues and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Improve manufacturing processes across safety, quality, repeatability, and efficiency
- Support MIG welding processes and resolve weld defects, dimensional concerns, and process variation
- Review and improve production tooling, jigs, and fixtures
- Support PFMEA, process validation, and manufacturing risk assessments
- Develop controlled manufacturing documentation and work instructions
- Support new or modified equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes

What We Are Looking For
- Experience as a Manufacturing, Production, Process, or Welding Engineer
- Strong practical knowledge of welding and fabrication, ideally including MIG welding
- Hands-on experience supporting shop-floor manufacturing
- Knowledge of jigs, fixtures, and production tooling
- Experience with root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving
- Understanding of PFMEA, process validation, and manufacturing quality
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- A strong safety-first approach
