An excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to help commission a brand-new production line and shape its long-term performance within a large, well-established PLC manufacturing business.

This role may suit a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Production Engineer, Project Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, or Reliability Engineer.

Key responsibilities of Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Support the installation, commissioning, and optimisation of a new production line.
  • Improve manufacturing processes, OEE, reliability, throughput, quality, and waste.
  • Analyse performance data and lead root-cause investigations.
  • Deliver CAPEX and improvement projects from specification through to handover.
  • Support tooling development, manufacturing trials, NPD, and NPI.
  • Work closely with operational teams, contractors, OEMs, and specialist integrators.
  • Produce engineering drawings, specifications, and operating procedures.

We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who can demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in a manufacturing, process, production, project, or commissioning engineering role.
  • Hands-on experience introducing or commissioning manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and continuous-improvement skills.
  • Evidence of improving OEE, reliability, quality, throughput, or waste.
  • A relevant apprenticeship, HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent engineering background.
  • Experience of CAD, tooling, Lean Manufacturing, automation, process validation, or reliability-centred maintenance would be advantageous.
