Manufacturing Engineer - AI-Enabled Technologies
Location: Glasgow
An innovative technology company is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help scale the production of complex hardware systems that combine precision engineering, automation, AI and advanced software.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware development and manufacturing, taking sophisticated electromechanical products from prototype through to full-scale production. You'll play a key role in ensuring products are built efficiently, reliably and to the highest quality standards while working closely with hardware, mechanical, electronics and production teams.
The Role
Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll bridge the gap between product development and manufacturing, helping shape how next-generation hardware products are designed, assembled and manufactured at scale.
Responsibilities
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype through to production.
- Develop and optimise manufacturing and assembly processes for complex hardware products.
- Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) improvements alongside hardware engineers.
- Create work instructions, manufacturing documentation, production tooling, fixtures and test equipment.
- Work closely with hardware, mechanical and electronics engineers to improve manufacturability.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality and manufacturing performance.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase quality, efficiency and throughput.

About You
You'll be a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges and working with advanced hardware technologies.
You'll have experience with:
- Manufacturing, Production or Industrial Engineering.
- Complex electromechanical or hardware products.
- DFM, DFA and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Assembly processes, production engineering and quality control.
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
- Reading engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Root cause analysis and structured problem solving.
