Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Telford
Contract Type: 15 Month Fixed term contract
Compensation: Competitive + Benefits
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week
About the Role
A leading international manufacturer is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join its engineering team on a fixed term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or Process Engineer to support new product introduction (NPI) activities, process improvement projects, and engineering change implementation within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for:
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including process trials, product launches, and engineering changes
- Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing information, and manufacturing data within the ERP system
- Developing process documentation including PFMEAs, process flow charts, standard work instructions, and control documentation
- Supporting PPAP submissions and associated launch documentation
- Driving Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity
- Conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions
- Supporting manufacturing cells and production teams with process optimization activities
- Working closely with Quality, Production, Planning, and Project teams to ensure successful product introduction
- Monitoring manufacturing performance and implementing process improvements to achieve customer and business requirements
- Supporting health, safety, and environmental objectives within the manufacturing environment

Requirements
We are looking for someone who has experience in:
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or Process Engineer role.
- Strong understanding of BOMs, routing creation, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience supporting NPI, product launches, and engineering change activities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
- Automotive supplier experience desirable but not essential.
- Experience using an ERP system would be advantageous.
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
