Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Telford

Contract Type: 15 Month Fixed term contract

Compensation: Competitive + Benefits

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

A leading international manufacturer is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join its engineering team on a fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or Process Engineer to support new product introduction (NPI) activities, process improvement projects, and engineering change implementation within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including process trials, product launches, and engineering changes
  • Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing information, and manufacturing data within the ERP system
  • Developing process documentation including PFMEAs, process flow charts, standard work instructions, and control documentation
  • Supporting PPAP submissions and associated launch documentation
  • Driving Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity
  • Conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions
  • Supporting manufacturing cells and production teams with process optimization activities
  • Working closely with Quality, Production, Planning, and Project teams to ensure successful product introduction
  • Monitoring manufacturing performance and implementing process improvements to achieve customer and business requirements
  • Supporting health, safety, and environmental objectives within the manufacturing environment

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has experience in:

  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or Process Engineer role.
  • Strong understanding of BOMs, routing creation, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting NPI, product launches, and engineering change activities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
  • Automotive supplier experience desirable but not essential.
  • Experience using an ERP system would be advantageous.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
