The Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting both new and existing products throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. You will work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Customers to develop efficient manufacturing solutions and drive operational performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing manufacturing processes for new and existing aerospace components.
- Supporting production through technical problem-solving and sustaining engineering activities.
- Investigating and resolving manufacturing issues, non-conformances, and internal rejects.
- Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and manufacturing data within ERP systems.
- Producing CNC programs for Turning, Boring, and Milling operations.
- Designing workholding and tooling solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and process validation.
- Conducting subcontractor assessments and developing procurement specifications.
- Providing technical input into quotations, capability reviews, and contract reviews.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Working closely with Operations and Quality teams to achieve production objectives.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Essential
- Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Strong CNC programming experience across Turning, Boring, and Milling operations.
- Experience developing manufacturing processes for complex precision-engineered components.
- Excellent problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, BOM creation, and manufacturing routings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- CNC Turning and Boring controls – Fanuc and Siemens (840D).
- CNC Milling controls – Heidenhain and Siemens (840D).
- Solid Edge and Edgecam experience.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Good knowledge of machining aerospace materials including:
- Aluminium
- Titanium
- Inconel
- Good understanding of:
- Milling
- Turning
- Boring
- Grinding
- EDM
- Wire Erosion
Desirable
- Experience programming both CNC Turning/Vertical Turning and CNC Milling machines.
- Experience within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of 5-Axis Mill/Turn machining centres.
